Unforgiveness is fatal...
Matthew 18:32-35 “…My heavenly Father will also do the same to you if each of you does not forgive his brother from your heart.”
Today we woke up and got ready for a birthday party, my husband had to go to a meeting so I drove to the party so long, and met him there. For some reason, I woke up with anger in my heart towards a specific person that I had not yet forgiven fully. As I was driving I was talking to God and then to this person – as if they were in the car (I am not crazy, this helps me clear my thoughts) and then I started crying, so much so, I missed the off ramp. Thirty minutes, two toll gates and a very good understanding of how unforgiveness ruins your life, later, I was at the party.
Last year we did a course on forgiveness, 70×7 by Bruce Wilkinson, and it showed us how unforgiveness is fatal. It is robbing us of our relationship with God and others, and the consequence is that we are in the torturer’s hands, because we have not yet chosen to forgive. No matter how hard it is, we have to forgive. Not forgiving is fatal, and it is robbing you of your precious time on earth.
Ask yourself today, who should I forgive?
