Maryka Roux has had the privilege of recording and distributing two original singles both of which are digitally available on all platforms.
Ryka also collaborated with Mootlife – a local rapping artist that was a British soldier. Their song, Thankful, is also available on all digital platforms.
In 2020 Maryka also recorded her first cover songs; making a CD available with Ryka’s rendition of 4 singles originally sang by someone else.
Living at Last
Living at Last was written by Ryka in 2016 and recorded in 2017 by Goliath Studios. The music and backtrack is produced by Abe Ayo.
The song was written after an interview with an artist. His life story of how God touched him by showing him his talents and inspired him to live his life to the full, all to the glory of God. This in turn inspired Maryka Roux to be living at last. On a car trip home, the song was born; recording it on her phone. Living at last is also the theme song of Ryka’s first one-woman-show called Unapologetically ME (see shows).
In 2018 Unapologetically Me came to life in late December and was showcased in the Pierneef Theatre on the 15th of March 2019. Since the recording of the song in 2017, Maryka has taken singing lessons from 2019, and hearing the song live, is a whole different experience.
Unapologetically Me aired again in 2020 on the 12th of March 2020 with an interview at Maroela Media and Review of the show posted in the Rekord Moot Paper. Stop sweating the small stuff
Stop sweating the small stuff is a song written in collaboration with Ryka’s Singing Coach at Studio Cha, Carle. It is a fun and uplifting song, encouraging us to focus on what matters.
It also became the theme song to Maryka’s 30 year celebration show entitled Chess Calling 30.
Maryka started formal singing training in the beginning of 2019 after completing and passing her audition at Studio Cha. With the guidance of her amazing coach, Maryka received a certificate for the following: Participation, Most inspirational, Big Belter, Best stage presence, Most improved, Commercial Award, Best Newcomer, R&B Specialist.
The theme for 2019 was Dream Extreme and in 2019 with the annual Demo CD productions of Studio Cha, Maryka recorded Stop sweating the small stuff.

Thankful
Thankful (Collaboration with Mootlife)
Thankful is a rap and pop song about the goodness of God. Ryka sings backing vocals in this very captivating song that tells the story of Mootlife as a sinner seeking a Saviour.
