Our life is a department store
Today I caught up with a friend, whom I haven’t seen in forever! It was so great catching up and of course, as always, we had an amazing chat about the working of God in our lives.
Revelation upon revelation, it got to a place (excuse the pun) where she shared a revelation that she had a while back and knew that this revelation was meant for the world.
Our life is a department store. We each have been assigned our own department. At times we want to take part or snoop around in another department and that is where we lose focus and things start falling apart in our department because there is no-one to man it.
Here is the thing, you have been chosen to operate in a specific department because Head office assigned you there for a reason. When there is a leak, you have to ask head office to send a maintenance person – DO NOT TRY TO FIX THE LEAK BY YOURSELF. There are people to do what you cannot do. If someone acquires something in your department, you send them to the cash register to pay, you do not even have to worry about that. Finances? If it is not your department, why would you worry about it? Tired or confused in your department? Speak to Human Resources (Jesus), who will speak to Head office (God) and the right people or communication (Holy Spirit) will reach you and lead you.
Wow! The biggest thing I got from this, is focusing on the talents and gifts that God gave you and allowing Him to show you and guide you when help is necessary. We also have to be open to receive help from other people who have expertise that we don’t.
So if you find yourself in a place where you feel lost, confused or a bit all over the place, ask yourself: Am I in the right department?
